At Harp, we love teens! We understand how difficult it can be when your teen is failing or not doing well in school. As a matter of fact, we have an entire teen program that helps your teen reach academic and life success.
To start with, we know that teens need more time with us. We also know that each year that passes that your teen doesn't get help is less chance at making it to graduation or to college.
Teens can be difficult because so much is going on in their lives. To top it off, their brains are shedding dendrites at a rapid rate in order to prepare them for adulthood.
Once teens start our brain integration exercises, they often report back to us that they feel more balanced and able to pay attention in class. They're able to organize their thoughts so they can turn in assignments, organize paragraphs for essays, and understand the tricky abstracts of algebra, geometry, and other higher level math skills.
When teens feel balanced and connected, they're happier. They want to participate in class and have a burning desire to do well. That's when grades soar...when tests are passed. When organized thoughts can lead to structured writing.
Teens with learning issues will often exhibit behavior problems. In their own way, they're letting you know that something isn't right in their world. It's easy to take teens back to the beginning of their learning foundation and rebuild missing components. To add in sub-skills that are weak or missing.
Even better? They enjoy their sessions. That's half of the battle. Once sub-skills are strengthened, then teens gain confidence. They're willing to attempt new activities and tasks. Their behavior improves because they no longer feel dumb or think that others think they're stupid.

"Jacob started classes at Harp in May. He had four D's and 2 F's. We'd invested a small fortune in private tutoring, but it didn't do much. We doubled his sessions through the summer and by the fall, Jacob was getting all B's and C's. Even better, he gained confidence!" ~J. Peterson
