Have you ever trusted somebody only to find they weren’t who you thought they were?

Hey, the fault is yours, right?

Anyway, that’s how I feel.  And, when somebody pirated my program, I knew I was the one to blame…for trusting enough in somebody who I thought was on the up and up.

Sadly, this person is only out for money and not to help children suffering from learning issues. I joined her email list, and I was blown away at the blatant push for money.  Sure, she’s copied a few catch phrases that may seem like she knows what she’s talking about. But, please, talk to someone before you part with any money in this situation.

I have made it my life’s mission to help students with learning disabilities.  One of my favorite quotes is, “You shouldn’t have to mortgage your house to help your child succeed in school.”  Yes, that’s my quote, and I believe in it with my heart and soul.

Well, you shouldn’t have to spend a fortune to help your child overcome a learning issue. Today when I took a look at this person’s email to me, at all the salesmanship and smarmy verbiage and the obvious desire for money, I was shocked when this person listed her competition as selling a similar program as the one she pirated from me for $7,700.00.

Oh, please.  No more…I can’t take it!

To begin with, this is what you would spend sending your child to a qualified tutor, an educational therapist…one of the big name learning centers, definitely not purchasing an online program.

So, my message to you today is to be aware of people like this.  If you are getting emails constantly wanting money, you must know this person doesn’t care about your child or student.  The good news for me?  The person who did this only pirated a very small portion of what I have and know.  This person doesn’t even have a college degree, for Pete’s sake!

As a real parent of a child with learning disabilities, I know how scary it can be and how desperate you can get.  There was a time if someone would have told me to stand my son upside down in a corner for forty-five minutes a day, I think I would have.  I personally parted with a small fortune helping him, and to be truthful, not much did help him until I did the proper research and used my education and experience to put a sequential, comprehensive program together that within a year made him an honor student.  I want the same for every child in the world.

Please be aware of snake and oil salesmen.  They are very slimy and good at getting at your emotional touch points.  Ask for credentials before you buy!  Demand case studies and follow up with the references given.  (Please, anyone who has worked with kids in this capacity should be able to give you references.)  Check out this person’s grammar.  If it isn’t up to par, how can this person be an educator?  Follow up with everything before parting with a dime of your money.

$7,700.00 for an online program?  Get real!
