Management Team

The Harp Learning Institute helps to facilitate improvements in school performance. We are located in Northern California ~ San Francisco, Lodi, and Valley Springs. We pick up where traditional "tutoring" and "tutors" leave off, since we offer a cost effective system for students K-12 struggling in school because of learning differences.  We have helped thousands of students who struggled in school become confident and happy learners who are able to succeed academically.

Lisa Harp, Founder and CEO, Harp Learning Institute

Lisa Harp started the Harp Learning Institute in 2001 after almost two decades of being a credentialed teacher in California, Arizona and Colorado. She developed the techniques used in the Harp Learning Instutute when her own son was met with learning differences. Being a certified teacher at the time, she was still amazingly frustrated when trying to help him. She searched for methods that would actually fix the problem. After being met with success, she started helping other children who were struggling in school, as a tutor and educational therapist. Once again she found success helping children and teens overcome learning problems. Lisa then decided to take these techniques and share them with others so that no child will ever have to suffer in school due to a learning challenge. Lisa feels that all children can learn and succeed in both school and life.

Caring Staff

Each Harp Learning Institute is run by a staff of caring people who love helping students achieve academic and life success. The Harp Learning Institute has an in depth training system to ensure that the students' needs are met. The staff includes:

  • Director of Learning
  • Lead Teacher
  • Certified Technian

Director of Learning:
The Director of Learning at each learning center is responsible for the day to day functions, scheduling and parent communication. Parents schedule meetings and questions and concerns through the Director of Learning. The Director of Learning does the placement testing and works directly with the Lead Teachers and Certified Technicians to provide the best learning plan and success for each student.

Lead Teacher:

The Lead Teacher is responsible for the overall instruction of each student at the center. The Lead Teacher tests the skills of each student and monitors progress. Individual learning plans are set up by the Lead Teacher as well. The Lead Teacher also oversees the Certified Technicians and any students they might be working with.

Certified Technician:

The Certified Technician works with students after intensive training, but is always under the guidance of the Lead Teacher. Certified Technicians are not responsible for testing or individualizing learning plans, but are responsible for monitoring student progress. The Certified Technician communicates with the Lead Teacher every step of the way to make sure that all student needs are met.

Training

A Lead Teacher must first be trained as a Certified Technician. Both Lead Teacher and Certified Technician positions involve extensive training. Lisa trains Lead Teachers personally to make sure that the Harp Learning Integration Program is running efficiently. Lead Teachers participate in the training of Certified Technicians, but Lisa will personally participate in their training as well.

Our staff is chosen by education as well as ability to work with students who are experiencing learning differences. We boast of a caring, positive staff who love to work with children and teens.
